Games We’re Excited about – May 2018

It’s hard to imagine a more exciting gaming month than April, with the God of War release set to be one of the biggest releases of the year. Still, here’s a look at what we’re excited about for May!

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze – May 4th – Nintendo Switch

Initially, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was released in 2014 for the Wii U, but May 4th sees the side-scrolling adventure game ported to the Nintendo Switch. Donkey Kong and his friends have to travel across six different islands to defeat the Snowmads. When it was originally released it received a generally good reception, and a score of 85/100 from Meteoritic, and with the Nintendo Switch version offering the opportunity to play as Funky Kong in a slightly easier “funky mode”, it’s sure to be a hit with the youngest generation of gamers. Our five-year-old has already asked me 100 times this evening if he can have it!*

Little Nightmares: Complete Edition – May 18th – Nintendo Switch

Another Nintendo Switch title that we’re excited about is puzzle-platform horror adventure Little Nightmares. The complete edition also features the three additional DLC chapters. Another game that was well received when it was initially released on PC, Xbox One and PS4, this game is worth playing for it’s twisted imagery alone.

Detroit: Become Human – May 25th – PlayStation 4

Detroit_Become_Human

The game that we are by far the most excited about for May, Detroit: Become Human will finally be released on May 25th. The game revolves around 3 androids, Kara, who escapes the factory she was made in to explore her newfound sentience; Connor, whose job it is to hunt down deviant androids; and Markus, who devotes himself to releasing the androids from their life of servitude. we’ve seen a small amount of gameplay footage and this game looks absolutely stunning. The game is also choice based, with their being many dialogue options that shape how the story unfolds. We’ve been heavily anticipating this game since it was released at the back end of 2015 and we’re so looking forward to finally being able to play it!
